Rajuk College Science Club: The Digital Home for RCSC

I've been involved with the Rajuk College Science Club (RCSC) for a long time, so when the time came to build their official website, I took it personally. This wasn't just a client project; it was about building a home for the biggest science club in the country. I wanted to make sure it reflected the club's prestige while being incredibly easy for students to use.

The Goal

Every year, RCSC hosts huge events like SciSpark, and the old way of handling registrations via Google Forms was getting messy. I built this platform to handle everything from event sign-ups to scientific paper submissions in one place. It had to be fast, it had to handle thousands of users at once, and it had to look high-tech.

What I focused on:

• Handling the Crowd: I made sure the registration system doesn't crash even when everyone tries to sign up at the last minute.
• Making it Found: I optimized the site so that whenever someone searches for RCSC or our events, we're the first thing they see.
• Security: Using Clerk for login means I didn't have to worry about student data being compromised. It’s rock solid.

What's inside?

The site is more than just a landing page. It’s a full management system with three main areas:

1. The Student Portal

This is where students go to sign up for events. I built a multi-step form that’s actually fun to fill out and gives them instant confirmation. They can also upload their photos for photography contests or their research papers directly.

2. The Ambassador Dashboard

We have "Campus Ambassadors" all over the country. I built a special dashboard just for them so they can track their progress, see how many people they've referred, and manage their tasks without needing to email us every five minutes.

3. The Admin Panel

This is for the club executives. They can see a live feed of registrations, export lists for printing ID cards, and manage all the submissions with a few clicks.

How I built it

I used Next.js for the main framework because it's the best tool for the job. Supabase handles all the real-time data, and Clerk manages the user accounts. For the design, I went with Tailwind CSS and added some subtle "space-themed" animations using Framer Motion to match the club’s scientific vibe.

Status

This is a live project. It's the official site for RCSC and is used by thousands of students every year for our national events.
