ScentScape BD: A Premium Fragrance Experience

I built ScentScape BD to solve a specific problem: most local fragrance shops felt cluttered and slow. I wanted to create a digital space that felt as luxury as the perfumes themselves. This wasn't just about selling bottles; it was about building a fast, smooth, and reliable shopping experience for people who care about quality.

Why I built this

The fragrance market in Bangladesh is growing, but the online experience was lagging. I used Next.js and Supabase to make sure the site stays fast even when we're browsing through hundreds of niche and designer scents. I focused heavily on the mobile experience because that’s where most of the customers are.

What makes it different:

• Speed: I spent a lot of time optimizing images and database queries so you don't have to wait for pages to load.
• Search that works: I built a search system that actually finds what you're looking for, even if you misspell a complex perfume name.
• Clean Design: No annoying pop-ups or cluttered sidebars. Just high-quality photos and clear information.

How it works

I split the project into two main parts: the store that customers see and a custom dashboard for the shop owners to manage everything.

For the Customers

• Discovery: I organized the perfumes into clear categories like Niche, Designer, and Unisex so it’s easy to explore.
• Product Details: Every perfume has its own page with high-res photos and all the notes (top, middle, base) clearly listed.
• Easy Checkout: I kept the checkout process as short as possible to reduce "cart abandonment."

For the Owners

I didn't want the owners to have to touch code. So, I built a custom admin panel where they can:

• Add new perfumes in seconds.
• Track every order as it comes in.
• Change homepage banners and featured collections with one click.

The Tech Behind It

I chose Next.js for the frontend because of its speed and SEO capabilities. For the backend, I used Supabase (PostgreSQL) which handles our data and images perfectly. The styling is all Tailwind CSS with some custom Framer Motion animations to give it that "luxury" feel.

Current Status

This is a live, commercial project. It’s currently being used by ScentScape BD to handle their daily sales and inventory.
